Hiking (both local and further flung) is one of our favorite activities-if you'd like to stretch your legs a bit before the wedding, this trail is one of our favorites! It's just over 3 miles, with a gentle few hundred feet of elevation gain. It features a creek (that you'll have to cross a few times--there are rocks for hopping) and a waterfall at the end. There's also a nature center at the trail head where you can learn more about the local flora and fauna-highly recommend!
We know many folks are joining us from out of state (and we are SO thankful!) and are interested in spending some time on the coast. We are 25 miles from the ocean, which typically means a 1-1.5 hour drive to the west side each way (possibly longer if heading north or south). If going to the coast is must-do, here are a few suggestions: Point Dume State Park is a bit north up the Pacific Coast Highway and very pretty: https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=623 The Santa Monica Pier has lots of food and things to do, including a roller coaster and a ferris wheel: https://www.santamonicapier.org/ Long Beach (the southwestern-most point of LA County) has a fantastic aquarium that I highly recommend: https://www.aquariumofpacific.org/give/membership?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAp5qsBhAPEiwAP0qeJmflhbYNsu0Dak8qu2ciBA0bwPhyMb-BPuLcUSwXn75B28LWXuttcBoCPqwQAvD_BwE
Bowl!
The New York Mets are in town this weekend. If you've never been to Dodger Stadium, it's pretty neat. There's a night game on Friday the 19th and an afternoon game on Sunday the 21st.
