FAQs

Question

Why are you doing a destination wedding?!

Answer

We decided to have a destination wedding to have the best wedding possible with less costs for us and for our guests. Traveling for a Florida wedding would actually end up costing more between food and lodging and transportation. More importantly, we want to enjoy our guests company for more than a night or two and figured it would be a great way to give everyone a vacation and extended time together in one of our favorite vacation spots!

Question

How much are the rooms?

Answer

There is a discounted rate of $441/per room, not per person. This includes all food and beverages on the property and any sister properties (Cozumel).

Question

How many nights should we stay?

Answer

The bride and groom plan on staying a week, Oct 22-28. You are welcome to stay as little or long as you wish with the same room rate.

Question

How much will flights be?

Answer

Fly into Cancum airport, around this time flights are typically around $200. We recommend the Hopper app to compare flights. Flights prices will not be accurate if it is too far in advance, prices usually drop as it gets closer.

Question

How do we get to the resort from the airport?

Answer

Once you land, you will be picked up by a shuttle that the resort provides for free (tipping is recommended), then it is about a 45 minute ride to the resort. Please note: free transportation is only included with a 4 night minimum stay. Once your flight is booked you will contact a number to provide them with your flight number and room reservation number. We will send more information on that in the formal invitation.

Question

Can I book my hotel through any travel site?

Answer

No, please use the link provided, this ensures you are counted as our wedding guest and get perks such as free airport shuttle ride.

Question

What is the attire for the Wedding?

Answer

Semi formal, we want everyone to look their best but also be considerate of weather and be comfortable. It will still be warm in Mexico in October and the ceremony and reception will be outside on a deck. There may be direct sun during the ceremony so sunglasses may be necessary.

Question

General information for rest of stay.

Answer

The resort is on the beach and there is a large pool for our use. There are 4 restaurants on site and a bakery/coffee shop. There is a lobby bar with pool table, a spa, and gym area. The resort is walking distance to 5th ave, which is a very safe area that the bride and groom visit at least once a year. It has shops, bars, and restaurants and lots of tourists. There is a ferry next door to our resort that can take you to the island of Cozumel, which is a fun location as well. Playacar Palace has a sister resort there that we can use for free, it is walking distance from the ferry.

Question

Do I need to convert my money?

Answer

No, all places take American money and card, just make sure if they give you change in pesos it is correct since the exchange rate is different.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

That is up to you! It is a family friendly resort.

Question

Am I safe in Mexico?

Answer

Yes, the area we will be in is very safe and patrolled by police and guards. It is a tourist area and that is how they get their money so no one wants to harm you. We would never choose a location that was not safe for our guests, this is an area we visit all the time. Everyone is very friendly and a good amount speak English so there is not a huge language barrier. If you feel safer only staying on the resort that is perfectly fine too. You will always find trouble if you go looking for it!
