March is a very special time in Brittany and TJ’s relationship. They’ve know each other since high school, through Kingsville, and through mutual friends. It was about three years since they’d seen each other, but life’s happenings brought them together again. A short while of being around each other they became closer friends as the time passed. One day TJ invited Brittany to go hunting with him at his ranch. March 19th, 2017 was their first date. They went turkey hunting on opening weekend of Spring turkey season. With both of them being nervous the hunt didn’t go very well. Brittany and TJ left the ranch empty handed, but with an eye for each other. March 21st, 2017 they started dating. TJ very nervously and romantically asked while driving back into town after dropping a mini truck off for Brittany. From that point on the two became almost inseparable. It lead to a year of firsts that made their relationship stronger and grew their bond. From fishing buddies to hunting buddies Brittany and TJ gained a bond so tough that the two can almost read each other’s minds. March 16th, 2018 while working cows TJ proposed. Brittany had no clue! Tj even went to Fashing, where her grandparents and uncle live, to ask their permission to marry Brittany. Tj planned it perfectly so that Brittany’s two kids would be there to witness what was about to happen. Spring Turkey season has been the start of all of the couples’ adventures and marked major mile stones for them. Keeping the tradition going they will marry March 16th, 2019. Opening day of Spring Turkey Season.
Brittany and TJ planned on working the two baby calves, that were born at their house, one Friday afternoon. They had just built the pens and it was the first time using them. TJ and Brittany both fed the cows and had them all locked in the pens. While TJ was cutting the calves out Brittany went and was getting the tags and medicine ready. The plan was he would mug the bull calf and Brittany would get the smaller heifer. Plan backfired! Somehow Brittany ended up with the bull calf and knocked off of her feet, but she didn’t let go!! She held on to his back legs and fought him until TJ could get to him. TJ was trying to tie the heifer and couldn’t get the rope done because he was nervous the bull calf was going to kick Brittany in the face. Brittany wasn’t too worried about it because the calf was getting just as tired as she was and was starting to give up. They get them tied and work the heifer, but Brittany didn’t get enough of one of the medicines, so she had to get more. When she came back to finish up the bull calf TJ was fighting with the ear tag. Then he looks at her and says “here hold this”. At first Brittany thought it was the tag, but when she looked down it was a ring. Completely distracted by the fact that she thought he found it in the pens in the dirt she just said “oh pretty”. Then continued to examine it to figure out how it stayed clean for so long. Brittany finally brings herself back to focus to finish with the bull calf and when she looked up and made eye contact with TJ he asks “will you marry me”? At this point she wanted to scream, jump, and cry all at once! She said “awww” a couple of hundred times, and gave TJ a couple of hundred kisses, and said “YES”!
