An elevated path great for walking, running, and biking. Our house is located near the west end of the path and this was a spot for one of our first dates (COVID couple alert!).
Yes, we have beaches in Chicago! Summertime Chi is a vibe and if you're up for laying out or taking a dip at Lake Michigan, this is one of the many beaches you can enjoy. We recommend taking an Uber or public transit here as parking can be quite hard in the summer.
A classic (but amazing) tourist attraction to see the Bean, the gardens, and more.
One of the oldest and largest art museums in the world. Easy to lose an entire day walking through all of the exhibits.
This tour by the Chicago Architecture Foundation is loved by Chicagoans and those new to the city. And we hear there's a bar on board!
A public walkway along the river that is quite lively in the summer months. You can easily pop down to the Riverwalk as you walk around downtown Chicago and now there are restaurants, cafes, and bars to stop into as you walk.
We hear they have good popcorn. And social media.
Go for a drink and maybe a bite, but mostly the view of Millennium Park and the lakefront.
Brigit's favorite place for deep dish in the city. This is just one of their many locations.
One of our favorite restaurants in the city. Delicious charcuterie boards that even some lactose intolerant folks thoroughly enjoy. We celebrated our engagement here. :)
TJ goes here about once a week.
TJ also goes here about once a week. This is the smaller, takeout version of the famous Au Cheval in West Loop. Known for their delicious burger.
Another favorite restaurant and bar of ours in Logan Square where we took some of our engagement photos. Lots of yummy options here including the burger and chicken sandwich.
Not authentic, but very delicious Mexican food. We love their marg pitchers, vegan nachos, and tacos.
Bomb tacos
Southern food in Chicago (we know what you're thinking). TJ approves of this New Orleans style casual spot for drinks and food.
A great brunch spot on the square in Logan Square
Farm-to-table restaurant great for brunch, lunch or dinner.
TJ's favorite coffee shop in the city. You already know he's friends with the entire staff.
The first Michelin-Starred Filipino restaurant in the world, which means there will definitely be a wait on weekend mornings. This bakery and café in Ukrainian Village doesn't disappoint and you can always pick up a to-go order if you're not into waiting.
One of our favorite restaurants in the city.
TJ's favorite doughnut spot located in an alley.
A Logan Square woman-owned bakery we love with yummy breakfast pastries, cookies and sweet treats, with many vegan options.
Delicious sub sandwiches
