We stopped by Brian Arden Wines on our last trip to Calistoga and highly recommend it. It's a beautiful family owned winery with outdoor patio walking distance from any of our recommended hotels. They also have lawn games and they are dog friendly, two big wins in our book.
Spa Solage is simply incredible. Wide variety of treatments and while pricey, any treatment gets you access to the Solage property for the day. The signature treatment is the mudslide, which yes technically is a mud bath, but it's amazing and is worth it. Trust us.
Oakville grocery is a Napa Valley staple that has been around since 1881. It's part grocery, part deli with amazing sandwiches and cheeses, and the largest wine selection in all of napa valley. It's a 20 minute drive from Calistoga, but definitely worth stopping by at some point during the weekend. It's also near and dear to our hearts as Brianna's uncle, Barry, is the general manager. One of our favorites.
There are so many wineries that we could recommend, so we are only going to talk about our favorite, Duckhorn. The property looks like the family estate from wedding crashers and the food and wine taste like what the family would be eating and drinking. Indoor and outdoor space and just a 10 minute drive from Calistoga - at the very least go get a tasting there.
Formerly called Taylor's Refresher, Gott's Roadside is fittingly the groom's favorite burger place. It has now expanded to several locations, but this was the original. Also, a celebrity hangout - during Mackenzie and Spencer's wedding weekend, we sat next to Lebron James and entourage.
