Is this an open bar wedding?

Answer

HELL YES!! We did not want our guest to have to pay for alcohol during our special day! Please note the will be a limited selection of drinks and two signature cocktails!

Question

Why can’t I wear the color blue?

Answer

I, the bride, am reserving the color blue for the mother so that she can be my “something blue”. Please note that Tj and I preferably want our guests in warm/autumnal colors (reds, maroons, purples, oranges, blacks, pinks, browns and greens are all great colors pick something other than blue and white please, and thank you). Use this occasion to leave vibrant colors at home and embrace your moody side.

Question

What is the parking situation?

Answer

Please note guests are encouraged to take their own cars to the ceremony and reception as the church is about a 15 min car ride away from the Gordon family farm. - Ceremony: There is plenty of parking at St James Church just pull up to the church and find a spot! - Reception: Parking will be in front of the big red barn on the cement slab. Or around in the driveway.

Question

Answer

YES! Guests are welcome to walk around the barns and look at the tractors. Please no unsupervised climbing on the tractors as they are expensive and are still in use (this is still a fully functional farm). BE RESPECTFUL Note: you are welcome to enter any of the barns but proceed with caution (yes there are critters in there and lots and lots of dirt)

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

If your child was included in the invitation they are more than welcome! Please note there is not designated kids items on the dinner menu so they will have to eat what is provided. Parents are highly encouraged to keep a close eye on kiddos during the reception! (My wedding dress is not small and I will accidentally bump into a little if I don’t see them- Julia)

Question

Why Michigan?

Answer

My entire extended family has always been located in the mid west, split 50/50 between Michigan and Chicago. It was always a dream of mine to get married at the same church as my parents and my grandparents. I was beyond excited when Tj expressed interest in getting married at the farm and we are both so happy we were able to make it work. - Julia Please note that if you are traveling we appreciate you so much and know how much of a hassle it’s going to be (trust me we are also traveling and it’s $$$ and stressful) if budgets are tight or if you have limited travel time please know that Tj and I completely understand if you are unable to make it. Of course we would love to have everyone attend but you gotta do what is right for your own lives and families!

Question

Are phones allowed at the ceremony?

Answer

No. Please turn off and put away your phone during the ceremony.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

No, all names of guests invited will be addressed on the invitation. Tj and I want to keep our wedding as intimate as possible, with only our closest friends and family. This is also a specifically catered event that requires us to list the names and meals of all attending weeks in advance. Any last minute additions/ changes will cause a lot of disruptions, thank you for understanding!

Question

Is there an after party?

Answer

No
