In the fall of 2019, TJ finished his Active Duty tour with the Marines and moved back home to the Nashville area to start the next chapter of his life. Little did he know, just two months later he would meet the love of his life. Avery previously moved to Nashville and had been there for several years already, growing in her career and making it her home. In November, Avery and TJ swiped right (said yes) on each other, becoming a match. Their initial first date plans for drinks on a Thursday night took a drastic turn. TJ's brother, Ben, was no longer able to join him at the Nashville Predators hockey game so TJ decided to check and see if Avery would like to meet him there. It just so happened that she was working downtown that day and was able to. After meeting her at the door to scan her ticket -  they hit the team store, concession stand, and eventually their seats in Section 330. The rest is history. Now, going on three years together they have survived a pandemic, gone to countless Preds games, concerts, World Series watch parties, the Dominican Republic, family beach trips, and cabins in the Georgia mountains. Their latest trip tops them all. On a trip to visit Avery’s best friend Blair and her husband Josh, they visited Glendale, Sedona, and The Grand Canyon. It was at that final stop that their lives changed forever. With a hired photographer there for a “best friend/friend group” photoshoot, TJ got down on his knee and asked Avery to marry him. You wouldn’t be reading this if she didn’t say yes. Tears flowed, champagne was poured, and engagement photos were taken at one of the prettiest spots America has to offer. The wedding date is set for November 18th. November 19th will mark the third anniversary of that first date at the Predators game. Avery and TJ could not be happier to wake up for the first time as husband and wife on that very special day.
