The happy couple’s story began in July of 2019 on the rooftop of Clutch Bar in downtown Chicago on a double date with mutual friends. Alex was working her first sales job out of college in the loop and TJ was working as a consultant in the suburbs. They hit it off as they had happy hour drinks and played connect four on the rooftop for hours. As they were walking away from each other, TJ decided to finally ask Alex for her number and she gladly gave it to him! They went on their second date at Broken English Taco Pub a couple weeks after that and the rest is history!

While being in Chicago for the weekend to celebrate Mothers’s Day and Alex’s sister’s graduation, on May 10th TJ planned a lunch date for him and Alex on the Odyssey cruise ship on Lake Michigan. They had an elegant four course meal and cruised on Lake Michigan where he decided to pop the question on the rooftop as they were passing the Chicago skyline! After they soaked in the moment, the dj on the cruise ship announced their engagement and played “5 Leaf Clover” By Luke Combs for TJ and Alex to dance to in front of everyone on the cruise. This song is very special to them. You could say it was their unofficial first dance! The day didn’t end there…After months of coordination and planning, the couple walked into a surprise engagement party with close friends and family to celebrate the newly engaged couple all night long!
