We're Getting Married!

It all started on a chilly night in Washington, DC, back in January 2014. Damon and Tiyana met out on the town, and what began as a chance encounter quickly turned into a night of great conversation, laughter, and an unexpected spark. A handful of springtime dates followed, laying the foundation for what would become a one-of-a-kind love story. But as life would have it, timing wasn’t quite on their side—Tiyana returned to Boulder to finish her degree, and Damon packed up for a new adventure in another city. Fate, however, wasn’t finished with them yet. Before long, they both landed in Los Angeles and picked up right where they left off. The connection was still there—stronger, even—and over the next few years, they stayed connected through cross-country moves, law school, grad school, and the many growing pains of young adulthood. From Maine to Boston to New York, Damon and Tiyana navigated a long-distance relationship, always finding their way back to each other. Ironically, when they finally landed in the same city—New York—in 2019, things fell apart. But sometimes, even when love takes the scenic route, it still arrives right on time. Eventually, they found their way back to each other once more, and this time, it stuck. For the past few years, Damon and Tiyana have been building a life together in New York City—one full of laughter, growth, and deep partnership. And now, they’re thrilled to be taking the next step—celebrating their journey and future with all of you.
