Joshua Ray, like his name, is a ray of sunshine. Since the beginning of our relationship and up to now, I've always felt that my life has become so much brighter because of his presence. He's extra sweet and thoughtful, and always intentionally making an effort for his loved ones. He's the most supportive and reliable friend with the annoying talent of making anyone laugh no matter the situation. In my case, he annoys me till I get angry and then makes me cave by making me laugh even when I don't want to. He's the best thing that's ever been mine. Sarah exudes a kind of energy that makes her and the people around her believe that she can do anything she puts her mind into, the real definition of a strong independent woman. But what makes her one of a kind is her capability to be very caring. Her default instinct is to always show the most genuine intention to lift others up. Sarah always gives her maximum effort to help. She is a reliable energizer who can turn nervousness or shyness into confidence. She is both a dreamer and a doer, always encouraging others to look forward while taking the steps to get them to where they want to be. Sarah is one of the most beautiful, genuine, and amazing human beings in this universe. A blessing to the people around her. I thank God for letting me spend my lifetime with her.
We're one of those age-old classic love stories of relationships that started as friends but ended up together. Well, we met in Meralco when we represented the company in the MVP Olympics (yes, we're athletes) for the hula-hoop fun games (gotcha!). We then got the opportunity to work together because of a project wherein she was the Project Manager and he was the Assistant PM. This opened the doors to a friendship that was mostly about exchanging memes and anime. But in those early years, little did we know that the friendship we were building would be the foundation of a strong love in the future.
The real love story began in the middle of the pandemic in 2020. We were both stranded kids who couldn't get home to their provinces. It started with simple messages to check up on one another and then followed by invitations to get drive-thru food at McDonalds, just to de-stress in such isolating times. Day by day, the conversations started getting longer and deeper. As the world slowly started opening up, we also started opening our hearts. We went for dinners and ice cream. We'd stay in the car and just talk for hours and hours, never wanting the night to end. As the world found a new normal, we also found a new love budding. Though we were in denial at first, something had definitely changed in the way we looked at each other. It was the comfort in the silence, the warmth in the coldest nights, the peace in the most trying times. The day felt incomplete without seeing each other, the food was more delicious when eating together, and we had become a source of inspiration and support for one another. There was no denying it any longer. We were in love.
Her POV: I had been to Melbourne before with my family, and I absolutely loved it there. When news hit that Taylor Swift would be doing concerts in Australia and Asia, we decided to make Melbourne, Australia the priority option. On top of the concert, I wanted to show him the beautiful sights I saw and make memories with him in those lovely places. The stars aligned and God granted our wish, and we were a part of the lucky ones to get tickets. We watched the concert on February 17. During the last chorus of "Love Story", he held my hand tightly and put on a ring on my finger. My heart was overjoyed. It wasn't the proposal I had in mind, but I was simply excited about the idea of being with Joshua Ray for the rest of my life. On February 20, we had a road trip to the Great Ocean Road (if you've never heard of it, you should look it up now). With no more built-up anticipation for a proposal, I was determined to enjoy the day and relive the majestic views of the Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge. Little did I know, he had something else planned out with the help of my brother. We went to Gibson Beach, one spot I hadn't gone to on my last trip. As I was admiring the view that looked like it came from a painting, with my feet on the sand and enjoying the calming sound of crashing waves, he turned to me and then began a speech that ended with him on one knee on the ground, holding the most beautiful ring I could ever dream of. Of course, I said YES! His POV: https://www.facebook.com/100008045825548/videos/782600933790042/
Thanks and congratulations for making it all the way here! We hope the above sections gave you a glimpse of our love. We spent a lot of time and effort to make our wedding vision a reality, and we're extra excited to spend that day with you to make memories that will last a lifetime. We look forward to celebrating our love with you, our dear family and friends, as our witnesses. See you soon! With love, Joshua and Sarah
