Our Story

Our story began in May of 2024 at an event called Siggie Moonie Fajita Fest, where Titus first noticed MaKenna. Titus was determined to find out who she was. After asking around and doing a little social media searching, he eventually found her on Snapchat and reached out. For a while, MaKenna didn’t respond — but Titus remained patient and persistent. After about a month and a half, she finally replied, and from that moment on, began talking almost every day. On July 6th, Titus drove from Longview to Abilene to take MaKenna on their first date. Although the nerves were high and the date ended a record timing 1 hour from pickup to drop-off, it was the beginning of something special. Throughout the rest of the summer, they continued to talk regularly and get to know each other better. In August, Titus moved back to Abilene, and that’s when our relationship truly began to grow. We spent time with each other’s friends, went on more dates, and started learning what it looked like to do life side by side. After a few meaningful months together, on October 14th, 2024, MaKenna officially said "yes" to dating — a moment Titus had been hoping for since the very beginning. By that time, Titus already knew that MaKenna was the person he wanted to marry. He shared this with many of the people closest to him, even before he shared it with her. Over the next few months, we began having deeper conversations about the future, spent more time with each other’s families, and truly saw how naturally our lives fit together. In May of 2025, Titus planned a day trip to “celebrate MaKenna’s graduation,” which turned into a surprise outing to try on engagement rings. While MaKenna knew an engagement was likely coming that year, she didn’t know how soon — or how much planning was already happening behind the scenes. In early June, Titus asked MaKenna’s dad for his blessing, ordered the ring shortly after, and received it by July 2nd. The ring was hidden in MaKenna’s parents’ home — right where she walked by daily — without her ever noticing. On August 9th, 2025, Titus planned a special date to celebrate another month together. Though MaKenna had originally hoped for something casual that night and made it pretty stressful (haha) , everything came together perfectly. That evening, at The Dickey’s Backyard — one of MaKenna’s favorite places — Titus got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. It was the easiest “yes” of her life. Now, as we look forward to getting married in 2026, we’re filled with gratitude — for each other, for our families and friends, and for the way God has led our story from the very beginning. We can’t wait to celebrate with all of you!
