Where will the wedding take place?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will take place at Kirknewton House Stables. Indoor and outdoor space is available.

What's the venue like?

Answer

There is a main hall, a side marquee to house the bar, toilet facilities and plenty of outdoor space with a substantial walled garden. There are gravel paths on the entrance side and a big main lawn on the far side which may not be suitable for certain types of heels if you are planning on taking a stroll through the gardens.

Yes, this is Scotland and it's October so whilst we're hoping for a gloriously sunny day(!), expect a spot of rain and cool temperatures. We will have some umbrellas handy in case they are needed!

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We're aiming to start at 1:00pm so we suggest arriving in plenty of time to allow for parking (if arriving by car) and for you to take your seat before any grand entrances are made. There'll be people around from early on though so please do feel free to turn up any time from around 11.30am onwards.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

You might notice a theme when you're here, but there is no dress code - please do wear whatever you like!

Is there parking?

Answer

Yes, there are two car parking areas - one a couple of minutes walk down the lane from the Stables and a second area up at the main house which is slightly further into the estate but still only a few minutes away by foot from the entrance to the venue. Parked cars can be left overnight as needed and collected the following morning.
