Tinsley is an Atlanta native and a pediatric occupational therapist. After graduating from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA, she returned home to Atlanta to attend OT school and begin her career. Stewart is a native of Rock Hill, SC and a data scientist. He is a Presbyterian College alumnus and moved to Atlanta in 2014 to pursue his doctorate at Georgia Tech.
We met in May of 2019 at the Candler Park Music Festival. During the Greensky Bluegrass performance at the end of the first day of the festival, Stewart was amazed by Tinsley's dance moves (Tinsley's words) and we exchanged numbers. We met back up on the second day and spent all afternoon together. Our first "real" date was the following week and the rest is history!
Stewart proposed to Tinsley at Candler Park - only a few hundred yards from the exact spot they met - in June of 2021. To set up the surprise, Stewart took their dog, Bugga Lou, for a walk around Candler Park and called Tinsley with a white lie - that Buggy had injured herself and needed Tinsley to bring the car to pick her up. When Tinsley arrived in a rush to tend to Buggy, Stewart sat her down on one of the park benches and popped the question!
We live in Atlanta, GA. We bought our first house in East Atlanta Village (EAV) in May of 2021. The house, constructed in 1910, is one of the oldest in the neighborhood and was in need of some serious TLC! Renovating the house has been a fun adventure over the past year and is a project that we plan to continue into our first years of marriage. We love the neighborhood - you can find us on the weekends grabbing a bite to eat at the new Southern Feedstore, having a drink at Midway Pub, or checking out a show at the EARL. Come visit us! We adopted our dog, Bugga Lou, in July 2020. The name "Bugga Lou" is taken from the only female bulldog to stand-in as the mascot at a UGA football game. She is a big part of our lives - afternoon walks, trips to the dog park, and late night snuggles on the couch - and is the perfect addition to our family.
