On the first day of seventh grade 2013, in Mrs. Brown’s third-period history class, two twelve-year-olds were assigned seats next to each other. The next four years were filled with lots of memories as good friends… until the summer of 2017. Tensions grew and a homecoming proposal poster was made. We owe each other all of our awkward firsts: a nervous first kiss, an overly planned first date, and those first family dinners filled with butterflies. But every moment was worth it, because it led us here. Two years later, we chose different colleges—in different countries, on different continents—and somehow, we made it all work. It was the hardest thing we’ve ever done, and the best decision we’ve ever made. After six years of long-distance love and a six-hour time difference, we finally get to start our lives together. This is the kind of love great authors write about—the kind built on years of unwavering commitment, distance, and teenage angst. We’re the happiest (and probably the most patient) people on earth. We hope you can celebrate with us!
