Christine and Adrian have crossed paths multiple times as early as high school (although Adrian doesn't remember some of those interactions). Their first in-person meeting was at Adrian's home church, where Christine was visiting for a Friday night youth group service. Although not much happened that night, Adrian was shocked and embarrassed to see her at All Nations Community Church several years later because he felt that he was flirtatious during their first interaction. Although he was trying his best to avoid making eye contact with her, a mutual friend introduced him to her and he pretended it was their first time meeting. To that, Christine looked him in the eye and said "We've met before," making Adrian panic and lie that he didn't remember. As he regretted his actions and overthunk everything, Adrian was still curious about Christine and decided to wear an 'Aggretsuko' shirt to church hoping that she would notice it. Not realizing he was playing the game, Christine geeked out and indeed commented on his shirt, leading to many more conversations. Well played, Ade.

Christine and Adrian were already close friends as they texted each other every day since exchanging numbers. We won't tell you the contents of the texts for your own cringe-safety. The whole time, Adrian thought that Christine might have a boyfriend and didn't dare make an actual move. So one day, Christine suggested studying together at Starbucks a few days before Adrian's DAT exam, to which Adrian gladly responded yes. While conversing at Starbucks, Christine accidentally mentioned avoiding Adrian due to being shy around him and immediately drove off after telling him. Like, she actually shut the door on him before he could say anything, started the car, and left him standing there. Both understanding what the next conversation was going to be about, they agreed to meet in Montrose after Adrian's exam and there confessed their feelings for each other (or something like that, I don't know - C). This being Adrian's FIRST experience asking anyone to be his girlfriend, he then awkwardly asked, "So... what's the verdict?" And Christine responded, "...What's the question?" (Because who says that? - C) Once he got the idea, Adrian finally asked Christine to be his girlfriend, and the rest is history.

Christine and Adrian had increasingly serious conversations about marriage (which they have code-named "mango" because using the "m" word made it too real), considering Christine was studying for her master's degree while Adrian was applying for dental school. Prior to meeting Christine, Adrian told his mom he would not even consider marrying anyone until after 30, and therefore Christine assumed he would do the same with her. Once he was accepted to dental school in Illinois, Adrian knew he did not want to spend four years long-distance from Christine (and she felt the same), so he accelerated his timetable and secretly purchased an engagement ring over the following summer while receiving blessings from his and her family. From then on, he did his best to stay strong while Christine constantly annoyed him about getting married in four years. Finally, during winter break, Adrian visited home and took Christine to Descanso Gardens while the families from both sides were preparing Adrian's backyard. Fortunately for him, he didn't have to lie too much because his upset stomach stalled for him (in a way, making Jesus his wingman - C). When they returned home, Adrian suggested saying hi to his mom who usually does garden work in the backyard. Following a trail of leaves to the back where a basket of mangoes was waiting, Christine obliviously thought that his mom had decorated the backyard for an event (I mean, was I wrong? - C). She even lifted a mango, saw the ring box, and didn't know it was a ring box. A little dumbfounded, Adrian gave an impromptu speech that will also not be revealed for cringe purposes, letting Christine finally realize what was going on. He then took the ring from the basket and on one knee asked, "Will you mango me?" The shocked Christine took a little while (a long while - A) to respond while Adrian's knee was slowly aching, but she finally said "Yes."
