Tina & Blake's journey truly began over 30 years ago at the Venice Yacht Club. Alongside their brothers Sam & Will, they participated in the Learn-To-Sail program. This was the start of sailing becoming deeply engrained in their lives. Blakes’s parents loved the Venice Yacht Club so much they had their wedding reception there. Tina's parents met sailing at the Ocean City Yacht Club in New Jersey. This later inspired Blake to propose on a sailboat - just like Tina's Dad proposed to her Mom. The mother of the bride & groom were both "sail moms" and participated on the board and drove all around Florida to regattas. Blake's Dad never missed an opportunity to watch Blake & Sam sail from his own boat and took the boys out to practice after school. Tina & Blake's love for sailing continued through high school and college as they both became certified sailing instructors and raced on their college teams - Tina at UF & Blake at USF. Blake went on to become a yacht captain in the Bahamas and Tina got her 6-pack captain's license in her free time. Despite their busy lives and full-time jobs, they always found time to be on the water. Both dreamed of retiring early and sailing around the world on a catamaran, but neither had found the right partner to share that dream... until fate intervened (with a little help from online dating). Tina & Blake found each other later in life, and it felt as though the stars had aligned. They spend every moment they can boating and traveling. Many weekends are spent visiting different yacht clubs and staying overnight on their boat. Favorite date nights involve a sunset boat ride with Prosecco. When not on the water, Blake enjoys working on boats between working as a financial advisor and Tina loves paddleboarding when she's not seeing patients at her optometry practice. Together they have traveled to Paris & Nice, the Keys, & the US Virgin Islands. Soon they will be honeymooning on a sailboat in the British Virgin Islands and hope to travel to Italy in 2026! Blake & Tina are so excited to share the celebration of their wedding & their love of boating at one of their favorite places - The Sarasota Yacht Club. They have spent many happy weekends there on their boat & can't imagine a more perfect setting to tie-the-knot!
