Once Upon A Time...

Tina and Roland met through mutual friends at a birthday party. They were at a restaurant that had a dance floor and a DJ. Roland was interested in getting Tina on the dance floor but her mind was set on the free food. After multiple attempts, Roland and Tina were dancing the night away which brings us to today. Fun Fact: Tina met Desiree, Roland's sister, in 2008 while both attending college at Cal Poly Pomona. In fact, Tina even borrowed Desiree's "white dress" for a formal event. Little did they know fate had it where 7 years later, Tina and Roland were destined to meet. Now just in a couple of months Tina will be wearing a white dress again, but this time to celebrate in marriage as she will soon be Mrs. Bolor.

How He Proposed...

Roland and Tina started talking about going to Japan in the summer of 2019 so Tina could celebrate her 30th birthday with her best friend. As far as Roland could remember, Tina shared with Roland that if she ever got engaged she would want it to be somewhere outside of California. Therefore, Roland used this opportunity to plan a very special proposal as it would be outside of California - even out of the US! Roland ran into one hiccup a couple of days prior to their trip to Japan. The jewelry store that was supposed to engrave YOU+ ME = (Infinity Sign) and add a sapphire (their birthstone) to the ring, did not get this done on time. Roland had a meltdown and the jewelry store then promised to have it done a day prior to their flight. They finally arrived to Japan, then one night Roland told Tina they had to wake up early to go to a tea ceremony. Tina was starting to get suspicious because Roland isn't into "tea ceremonies" and she remembered prior to the trip Roland asked Tina if she liked more city or nature type of photos. He also told Tina to pack one nice dress. Tina painted her nails that night before bed just in case what she was speculating was true. They finally got to Happo-En, a beautiful garden with a Koi fish pond in Tokyo, Japan. Roland found this perfect engagement spot with the help of Bruna Luise (Photo My Tokyo), a photographer that he hired to get candid shots of their engagement. Finally, Roland found the perfect spot and moment to pop the question and they shared a few tears as Tina said "YES" to the love of her life.
