As we like to joke with people and tell them, I just showed up at his doorstep. If only it was that simple. We were introduced to each other on the 4th of July at Rick's house by mutual friends Marcos and Kaydee. While sharing drinks and laughs Rick suggested that he has a good view of fireworks from the front of his house. We all decided to go out front and watch. It was actually a terrible view and I struggled to get a successful pic to post on social media like the millions of other people. Rick noticed and then offered some good firework pics from the A's game a few days before saying. "nobody will even notice where they were taken from." I took him up on his offer and he text me the pictures but using it as a way for us to exchange numbers. I think we were both excited to casually swap numbers. A friendship grew from there and by the end of the year we were an item.
I had just gotten off from work on Valentines Day. Walking up to the front door I heard music and thought "aww he's being romantic for V-day." When I entered the house I saw an abundance of candles and rose petals. Rick approached me and got down on one knee and proposed. I couldn't believe it, after 7 years of being together the man of my dreams was proposing. I said, YES! I had to ask several times if it was real. It absolutely was.
