FAQs

Question

About House of Yes

Answer

House of Yes operates as a dance club Thursday-Sundays, and is known for their incredible performances and community of artists. It's been a staple in the neighborhood (and all of New York) for almost 20 years. This is a space dedicated to self-expression & celebration, creativity, and respect. It is a safe haven for all who enter, ESPECIALLY our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters! We highly encourage visiting their website to get a sense of the atmosphere. It is not a typical 'wedding venue' and that is exactly why we chose it!

Question

What to Wear

Answer

Dress to EXPRESS! This is an Italo-Disco themed wedding. Think Studio 54 vibes on the Italian coast. We fully support fringe, sparkles, feathers, jumpsuits, wild colors and prints, and anything outrageous. We want everyone to feel comfortable first and foremost, but if there is something in the back of your closet you have no idea where to wear it to, this might be the time to break it out. And wear comfortable shoes, we will be dancing! ~Check out the Gallery tab for outfit inspo~

Question

Dietary Restrictions

Answer

We are having a buffet-style dinner. We are staying mindful of gluten and nut allergies, as well as vegetarian guests. If you are allergic to dairy, are vegan, or have any other allergies/restrictions please reach out to Tina at (518) 275-3318 so we can make sure you have ample food to eat!

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

For ease and convenience to the venue in Bushwick, we recommend staying in Williamsburg, DUMBO/Downtown Brooklyn, or anywhere in Manhattan within 10 blocks of 14th street, aka right off the L train. There are a few hotels in Bushwick/East Williamsburg, though we wouldn't recommend staying there. Please text us with any questions about accommodations.

Question

How do we get to the venue?

Answer

House of Yes is located in Bushwick, directly above the Jefferson St. L train stop. The L train runs directly across 14th St. in Manhattan, and intersects pretty much every train line in the city, so you can transfer from anywhere. We highly recommend traveling via public transit for this reason! If you do decide to uber/drive, be mindful that on a Friday afternoon during rush hour, there will definitely be traffic. If it normally takes a 30 minute drive, it could take 45 to an hour to get there depending on where you are staying, so plan accordingly!
