Myles went to high school with the friends Kristina went to grade school with. She knew them first but he knows them better. They met in the park for the first time on August 7, 2016. I could say the rest is history, but everyone loves a love story...
Kristina was a nanny to Doug, Lizzie, and Ellie. She invited Myles along to their summer Museum District trip. They visited the Children’s Museum and the Health Museum and Kristina couldn’t help but notice how patient and attentive Myles was with the kids. This was a good sign! (Be sure to look for Doug, Lizzie, and Ellie at the wedding ceremony; They will be serving as ushers!)
Kristina and Myles went to the movies. They picked a cartoon movie that looked funny and light hearted...they didn’t know it was rated R and it didn’t quite turn out that way. Embarrassed at their choice, they left the theater in silence. 😳 Needless to say, they have seen much better movies since then and going to the theater is one of their favorite things to do now. Myles loves action movies, but Kristina loves romance... They see all the romantic comedies.
There were many firsts for Kristina on this trip: first time on a plane, first time away from family, first trip with Myles and his family. So far from home for the first time, Kristina was immediately homesick. But after a cold New York evening in the city lights, Times Square, and the best tacos and hot chocolate she’s ever had (we all know love had something to do with it), she knew she was in love.
On the day of his company picnic, Myles took Kristina to a local garden to meet his coworkers for work photos. When they got there, no one was around? Proceeding to the garden, and nervous to meet his coworkers, Kristina couldn’t help but wonder why no one was there yet. You see, Kristina is never early. Myles led her to the garden where she found a bowl of rose petals on the ground...with a sparkling ruby ring inside! Myles got down on one knee and proposed. YES! ...There was no company picnic; It was all a diversion. They had a picnic of their own across the street at Northshore Park and spent their first day together as an engaged couple.
