We met online! Total shocker considering we both only tried online dating as a complete last resort. It was an instant connection. Jack asked for a date after only exchanging a total of 5 messages. We had two dates and made it official. We've been practically inseparable ever since. 3 years, a new home, one cat, and one puppy later, we are so happy to be tying the knot!

For my birthday Jack surprised me with a mini vacation to Tahoe. We love Tahoe and it's a family tradition to go once a year. On the day of, I noticed the route we were taking was a bit strange, but Jack remained tight-lipped. The longer we drove I saw signs for Yosemite - I had never been. This was his "real" surprise, a trip to Yosemite! I was very excited. We drove straight to Glacier Point and began taking pictures of the beautiful view. When we arrived I noticed many visitors were walking around with ice cream, so after many photos I asked if we could treat ourselves. Jack insisted we enjoy the view a bit longer. A few minutes later I asked again, "can we get ice cream now?" To which he replied - annoyed - just one more photo. He told me to face the view and he would take a picture from behind, which I did. As he was "taking the picture" I asked once more, "can we go get ice cream now?" He then told me to turn around, and he was down on his knee and asked me to marry him. And I said "Yes". We were very lucky that in that moment, a very nice couple had been taking photos, which they then sent to us to remember our special moment forever. Definitely a great first trip to Yosemite. :)
