Our venue is the Seattle Chinese Garden. The location is the North entrance to South Seattle College, 5640 16th Ave SW, Seattle, WA, 98106.
We suggest driving or taking a rideshare. There is parking at the venue. For guests flying in to Seattle, the closest airport is the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
No, due to differing preferences we recommend you book your own accommodations in south Seattle (near the venue), downtown (near tourist attractions), or north Seattle (near our home).
We suggest festive, semi-formal attire—think garden party. There are no official colors or themes. If you plan to dance, choose shoes accordingly.
It will be outdoors, in the courtyard of the garden.
The average weather in August in Seattle is sunny and dry, with a high of 72 and a low of 57 degrees F. Weather is typically very nice and it’s the most popular time of year to visit Seattle.
We got legally married in November 2025, so there’s no ceremony portion. For family only, we’ll serve tea from 5:00-6:00. For all guests, arrival/mingling is 6:00-6:30. Dinner and dessert will be served 6:30-8:30, followed by social dancing 8:30-10.
Dinner will be buffet-style, with a vegetarian option. Cake will be conventional. We don’t drink much, so it will be a “dry” wedding, with only non-alcoholic drinks.
Yes, feel free to do so. There is no wedding hashtag.
No, we don’t have a registry and aren’t expecting gifts. We’d just like to enjoy celebrating together with family and friends.
Aside from the classic tourist attractions, some favorites of ours are the Arboretum, Japanese Garden, and Asian Art Museum, the Chihuly Glass Museum, Kerry Park lookout point, the Waterfront Park by Pike Place, Smith Tower lookout, Seattle Central Library, Ballard Locks, hot tub boat or motorboat rental on Lake Union, seaplane ride on Lake Union, and Mox Boarding House board game cafe. If you're staying more than a few days, there are many nice hiking trails outside the city, three beautiful national parks (Rainier, Olympic, North Cascades), and great weekend trips (Portand, Vancouver, Victoria BC).
