We met through social media while Tim was stationed in California and Xiomara was a college student in Virginia. We were part of an online friend group, and, after noticing a natural attraction, we started talking more on the side. On March 5th we decided to begin a long-distance relationship and met in-person for the first time on May 23, 2015.

Following the end of Tim's junior year at Virginia Tech, Tim suggested we celebrate the beginning of summer by hiking one of our favorite trails: Mill Creek in Narrows, VA. Once we reached the waterfall, Tim, nervous and shaking, got down on one knee and asked Xiomara to marry him - 5 years to the date after our first kiss!
