We met at Blackburn College where I was working in the library at the time. I assumed he was just coming in to study, however, he did spend a lot of time at the front desk. Eventually he started walking me back to my dorm after my shift was over and one night he asked me for my number (in the cheesiest way possible). And when he finally asked me to be his girlfriend, I said, and I quote, "sure".
So, around seven and a half months after we started dating, Timothy took me to Pere Marquette State Park in Grafton, IL. While there we hiked, had a wonderful picnic (turkey and pepper jack on wheat), and enjoyed multiple, beautiful outlooks. I noticed that while we were at one specific outlook that he was acting funny, but didn't think much of it. Imagine my surprise when he told me he loved me for the very first time. It was an amazing day that I'm sure neither of us will forget. (At least, not for awhile.)
With Timothy working, and me finishing up my senior year, I found a day that neither of us were busy and suggested that we spend the day together. On the morning of October 14th, 2018, we headed out for Grafton. Our first stop was Eckert's Farm where we tried apple cider and fed the goats. Our second stop was Aerie's Winery, where we enjoyed a tasteful Moscato D'asti while overlooking the (flooded) river. Our third and final stop of the day was at Pere Marquette where, much like on June 3rd, 2017, we hiked for a bit before enjoying a picnic (turkey and pepper jack on wheat, of course). After our picnic, we were at an overlook when Tim claimed he wanted to take some pictures. While I was enjoying the view with my back to him, he states that he had found an "interesting rock". Upon turning around, I was shocked to find him down on one knee. You may not be surprised to find out that I, of course, said "yes".
