A brisk winter's day in 2019, Tim happened to be in the south bay for work and Jesse was on his way to the airport. Little did he know that catching a flight wasn't the only thing he was catching that day. After a few Hinge messages about each other's Chipotle order, they started planning a date. With the holidays right around the corner, it wouldn't be till January of 2020 before they would meet in person. After a nice neighborhood Italian dinner and a few old fashions in a barrel, they would end their first date having to jump Tim's car. The rest is history.

To celebrate Independence Day, Tim planned a beachside picnic in Manhattan Beach. Before leaving the apartment, Tim's request to "wear something nice" was fair warning that this would be no ordinary picnic. After a couple of sips of red wine out of red solo cups, Tim got down on one knee, and Jess of course said yes. Passersby cheered and a photographer jumped out of the bushes to snap a few shots to commemorate the moment.
