We met thanks to Timothy's older sister, Katalyn. She was a very close friend to me through school and softball. After I graduated from high school, I made the courageous decision to send a "friend request" to Timothy. He luckily accepted and we began talking! Little did I know he would become my best friend and love of my life. At that time, Timothy was stationed in Washington state and we made long distance work amazingly. After he completed his contract for active duty military, he moved to Effingham and we continued to grow together and he made me fall head over heels in love. A few years into college, we discussed having him move to Evansville, IN with me and that made my love and patience grow even more. But out of the blue, we found out he would be deployed overseas with the National Guard. But even thousands of miles away, I still loved him with all of my heart. The biggest surprise would be when he finally came home and decided he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. So with a room full of both of our families, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. And of course, I SAID YES! And the rest is history.---Jenna
For our first official date while I was in Effingham for the first time, I wanted to make her dinner. It took over 3 hours to make the meal due to Katalyn's outdated appliances which made me even more nervous and sorry for pushing our date back (making Jenna wait even later). The dinner was about done so I set up the table with candles and flowers and had her drive over. She was smiling the whoel time. She was beautiful and after our dinner she took me to Homewood for ice cream. We took the ice cream back to the apartment and watched a horror movie (The Rite). This was also one of the first times she let me kiss her and it was amazing.---Timothy
