First we met online, using a new dating app called Hinge in June of 2020. Our first date was casual, a quick bite to eat at a Mexican restaurant and then a drive around the city, ending the day with ice cream. The proposal was done at the Lookout restaurant in the pyramid. I was made to believe that we were going to celebrate academic achievements for myself and one of our friends. It was a big surprise when I looked up and saw my family coming toward us and then looked down to see him on one knee. Him accidentally putting it on the wrong finger and me calling him out for it will always be a special memory to me. How did you know Brittany was the one? Timothy: I knew you were the one when we were dating and I was going through a new segment of my life of a trying to get a new job and career. You pushed me for more than settling and wanted success for me. You talked to your mom to offer a place for me to stay when I had to move from Brighton. You consoled me when I had my breakdowns and episodes of trauma. You became my rock and pillar of strength to do better and push myself not just professionally but physically to do better. I thought about what ten years down the road would look like and with every single thing you were always there with me and I was always with you. Brittany: I knew he was the one after little, but significant moments. His relationship with my family, how caring he was with my nephews, how he remembered the little things, like my favorite snacks or my coffee order. How he matched my levels of goofy and that I felt safe to be vulnerable with him. That no matter what we were going through, there was always an I love you ready and available.
