Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Amelia Zessin and Timothy Miller
We would like to thank our family traveling to Detroit for their effort to celebrate with us. Detroit is a fun city, and we have included a few things to see to make your trip even more enjoyable!
Take Advantage of the Q Line

Take Advantage of the Q Line

The Q-line is a modern trolley that runs up and down Woodward Avenue from Campus Martius (the epicenter of Detroit - 0 Mile) all the way out to where the cocktail reception is on Friday night. It is completely free: just hop on!

Detroit Institute of Arts

Detroit Institute of Arts

5200 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, MI 48202

Maybe you like to keep it classy. Then head out to monolithically-classical DIA and appreciate some true masterpieces. Right on the Q-line, this is an easy trip from downtown.

Motown Museum

Motown Museum

2648 West Grand Boulevard, Detroit, MI 48208

There is a trope that nobody actually *from* Detroit has been here. Amelia must have thought Tim worth more than her Local Card, because we went and found it quite interesting. Advance reservations required.

The Guardian Building

The Guardian Building

500 Griswold Street, Detroit, MI 48226

If you're walking around downtown and are interested in a cool building, check out The Guardian. Walk in and look around the lobby at the unique architecture!

Book Tower

Book Tower

1265 Washington Boulevard, Detroit, MI 48226

Not to be confused with the Book Cadillac, Book Tower is home of an interior glass rotunda. Amelia and Tim ate at the (then just-opened) French restaurant Le Supreme that calls Book Tower home, as well as the lobby bar. The rooftop bar is supposed to be excellent, but they have always been full when we have tried to check it out. Maybe you'll have better luck than us!

Lafayette Coney Island

Lafayette Coney Island

118 West Lafayette Boulevard, Detroit, MI 48226

Detroit LOVES their Coney Island hot dogs (but they just call them Coneys)! The two classic spots are downtown and share a building. But you have to choose: Lafayette or American. There is a strong loyalty to one or the other, so choose wisely!
