Chapters 1, 2, & 3

Timmy and Tati met 13 years ago in youth group. Timmy was quiet. Tati often hid behind her bangs. They were both awkward, clearly, and limited their conversations to AIM and Facebook posts. After high school Tati left Oakland to go to school in SoCal. Timmy made his way down the coast, unknowingly, moving into the same neighborhood as Tati. Every once in a while, they hung out, went on the occasional hike, and even went to Disneyland once or twice. But that didn't last too long. Timmy moved back up to the Bay. Tati stayed put for the next few years. It would be another seven years before they would see each other again. In those years, Timmy and Tati went through a lot in life. In early 2017, underneath the lantern lights of Blind Tiger in Oakland, they sat down for dinner caught up on each other's lives. After that dinner, there were more conversations to be had; more stories to share. It took a while for Tati to open up to the amazing man that Timmy had become. He was persistent yet patient. Tati was wonderstruck. Through adventures camping, climbing up Mexican pyramids, exploring wolf sanctuaries, being foodies, and hopping trains across Europe, they had a crash course in getting reacquainted with each other. Ups and downs, long drives, learning to just chill; it's all been a part of shaping them, not only as a couple, but as individuals. In March of 2019 Timmy took Tati to Europe for her first visit. After sprinting across the cobble stone streets of Paris from dinner on the River Seine to the Eiffel Tower, Timmy pulled Tati up from where they sat watching the lights of the Iron Lady sparkle, snapped a selfie, and then got down on one knee. Timmy was so nervous and Tati couldn't stop crying so the exact words were lost. The important part is that Timmy asked and Tati said yes. To top it off, Timmy has prepared messages from their families offering congratulations and wishes for the both of them. It was the perfect proposal.
