It all started with a simple, “I’ll hit you back after class.” Now, I (Timmesha) had been in the dating game long enough to know that usually meant “never.” So, naturally, I thought, I’ll believe it when I see it. But to my surprise, he actually did hit me back after class. Admittedly, there were a few yellow flags at first—like asking for my Snapchat instead of my number, and the unexpected realization that he lived all the way in Houghton, Michigan (how I missed that detail, I’ll never know). But what followed was something truly special: late-night conversations filled with random questions, deep intentionality, reading various faith based books together, shared values, laughter, tears, support from our closest people, and countless visits back and forth. Over time, our connection grew into something undeniable—and here we are. We are beyond excited to begin this new chapter of life together, and we’re honored to celebrate it with those who mean the most to us. While we wish we could invite everyone we know and love, we’ve chosen to keep our wedding intimate. We’re celebrating with those who have walked with us from the beginning, prayed with and for us, and whom we know will continue to cover our marriage in love and prayer in the years to come. Thank you for being part of our journey. We can’t wait to celebrate with you as we become one!
May 10th was the day that brought us to this beautiful moment—our "forever" in motion. After months of planning and heartfelt conversations with the right people (if you know, you know), Stephen asked for Timmesha’s hand in marriage. This day held even deeper meaning, as it carried the blessing of Timmesha’s father. Though he is no longer with us, before his passing he shared words that will forever stay with her: “I don’t know what the future holds, but if you do decide to move forward in marriage, know that you have my blessing.” To his forever babygirl, those words meant more than he could have ever known. With love and a little teamwork, Stephen enlisted Timmesha’s best friend, Yvonne, to get her out of the house for some girl time, while her mom, sister, aunt, uncle, and grandparents helped prepare the surprise. He told her to get dolled up for their first "official date" of the summer—a bit of a giveaway in hindsight (LOL). That evening, they returned to where it all began: a local park. Where they made their dating relationship 'official official'. There, Stephen had spelled out the most important question he’d ever ask: “Will you marry me?” And of course—I said YES! And now… here we are.
