Chelsea had been in Niger, West Africa serving in the Peace Corps for about a year and a half before really meeting Tim. She had been aware of him almost immediately upon his arrival to the country we would later call our meeting place. Shortly after a new batch of volunteers entered the country, each region in Niger would get a copy of headshots for their team to scope out the “fresh meat,” kind of creepy, but it seemed normal at the time. Chelsea was immediately smitten by Tim’s picture and wanted to meet him! We had a very brief encounter in Konni (Chelsea’s regional capitol) shortly after Tim’s two-month long training came to an end. Tim was headed East and stopped in Konni for a pit stop. Chelsea complimented one of Tim’s tattoos and we didn’t see each other again until several months later. Our next encounter was at the Annual Summer Solstice Celebration in Konni on July 1, 2009. We didn’t know it at the time, but this would later become our anniversary date.... Copy the link below to read our entire story! www.dropbox.com/s/6w9on2n81o7msd1/Our-Story.pdf?dl=0
