How We Met

First comes school, then comes marriage..

Alex and I met outside of the Henson School of Science and Technology at Salisbury University our sophomore year by the bike racks and Alex helped me carry my heavy chemistry books all the way across campus. Later that night, he met up with my roommates and I at a college party. No soon after meeting each other, we started dating four days later on August 26th, 2014 and the rest was history :)

The Proposal

The Biggest Surprise

During the September 18th through 20th weekend, Alex and I were supposed to go camping with my parents in Cape Charles, Virginia. However, the day before our trip, Alex and I sold our retro and renovated 1997 Terry Travel Trailer, so we canceled the trip and my parents were going to visit us in Edgewater, Maryland for the weekend. To make up for the canceled camping trip, Alex suggested we go grab lunch in downtown Annapolis since my parents weren't coming until late afternoon. He also wanted us to dress nice since we didn't know where we would end up downtown. We walked around downtown Annapolis and ended up getting cream of crab soup and calamari at McGarvey's - it was delicious! Shortly, after finishing lunch, we walked back to the truck and started to head home. On our way home, Alex mentioned that we needed to stop at our marina down the street from our house to fill up the cooler with ice, so my parents had a place to put all their Natural Light beer. We got to the marina and Alex said he wanted to take a walk down to the dock. I really was not in the mood to go on a walk, since my right foot was getting a blister from my fall booties, but I went anyway, despite my sore foot. We approached the dock and waited for this couple to get off. Alex wanted to wait till the couple left the dock and maintain social distance (which is totally understandable during these odd times). The couple left and Alex and I walked towards the end of the dock. While walking towards the end of the dock, Alex held my hand and told me he had something important to ask me. At the moment, I realized he was proposing. He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and I said yes. I was so surprised and in shock at this moment - I couldn't believe he proposed. My sister and her boyfriend hid in the bushes to capture the moment on camera. No sooner after our photo session, a surprise engagement party was held at our home with our family and friends - it was perfect
