In the tapestry of our love story, there are a couple of versions of how our paths first intertwined. According to one of us, we crossed paths countless times in our youth group at church. According to the other, our true introduction happened at a video shoot for one of our favorite groups. And, well, let’s just say one of us was oblivious to the magic happening around them—guess who! That video shoot? It was more than just a moment captured on film; it was the beginning of something deeper. It opened a door to a connection that we couldn’t ignore. Our first official date was a movie night, with Sour Patch Watermelon in hand as we nervously watched "Get Out." Little did we know, that evening would set the stage for many more unforgettable moments together. Life took us on separate paths during our senior year of high school and freshman year of college. Mesha attended XULA while Zyan began his journey at PVAMU. However, fate had other plans in store. When Mesha later transferred to PVAMU, our friendship was reignited with a spark that refused to be extinguished. In October of 2020, our friendship blossomed into something more—we embraced a new chapter as a couple. And three years later, amidst the magic of Disney, Zyan got down on one knee and asked Mesha the question that forever altered our lives. Our love story is a testament to laughter shared, challenges overcome, and dreams pursued together. It’s a journey where every twist and turn, every heartfelt conversation and stolen glance, has brought us closer to each other and to this moment.
