Our Story

First comes Kenya, then comes Insta...

It all began in the hills of the Rift Valley in Kijabe, Kenya. No we weren't dating, and Tim will always claim that I didn't even know he existed, while meanwhile Tim remembers every detail of everything we did together. Time passed and years went by, until, in a typical millennial way, Tim slid into the DM's. For those who may not know what that means, Tim consistently (in a not creep way), sent me letters and an adorable pre-marathon package, texts and phone calls for over a year. Until one day in August of 2018 Tim flew all the way to Portland OR to see Kim for the first time in 8 years. It felt totally normal as Kim drove to the airport to get Tim, not entirely realizing that it was so so far from normal. That week we went on long walks, ate so much food, drank all the Oregon beer and enjoyed the smokiest week in Oregon that year. Then, it all began, long distance. Multiple flights from coast to coast as Tim began Nurse Practitioner school in Boston. Over the next year multiple trips between Boston and Portland, to BC, National Parks and multiple breweries and doughnut shops, our love grew. In August of 2019, Tim and Kim drove 3,122 miles to finally be on the same coast. Tim continued to be my rock, my best friend and the one who always gave me the last french fry. Then finally on January 6th, 2020 Tim got down on one knee and asked Kim to be his forever best friend. Then began the planning the epic celebration of our love with all our favorite friends and family, and even though its short notice, we cannot wait to celebrate with all of you!

The Proposal

01.06.2020

Many people have asked me if I knew that this was coming, and honestly I didn't. I am not a patient person at all, its something I continually try to approve upon. But when it came to the proposal I was restlessly impatient. When finally in typical stubborn Kim fashion I was dead set on the fact that it was never going to happen (I know, I am very dramatic). We spent a weekend in DC on our way to visit my family. On our last night and Tim was determined to go take pictures of the War Memorial, it was freezing cold but I played along. Tim proceeded to set up his camera for 15 minutes as I admired the architecture. Finally Tim came over, took the worlds WORST PICTURE, and then go super awkward. Then he got down on one knee and asked to do forever with me. It was perfect and was a beautiful start to our forever!

The Wedding

06.13.2020

In the wedding world, or even in the past week, we have heard "OMG, THAT IS SO QUICK!". But, when you know you know! We are so excited to start a life together and something that is of the upmost importance to us is being able to celebrate our union with our family and closest friends! If you haven't gathered from our story, our lives are very spread out. Between the two of us we have lived in THIRTEEN different places. We know everyone will be traveling from near and far, and we are so thankful and feel so loved to think that you are wiling to travel in order to celebrate us. Tim's family has a trip already planned this year so why not coordinate with that! So we hope you can make it, we promise donuts and beer, and SO MANY HUGS! We love each and every one of you!
