We have chosen to have a child-free* wedding. We want everyone to be relaxed and enjoy their time for the event, not having to watch over little ones. *Tanya and Tim's niece and nephews will be in attendance for the ceremony, but then they're headed to Grandma & Grandpa's.
Our venue has limited space, and we are only able to accommodate a set amount of people. Due to our limitations, please adhere to your invitation information, which will specifically state whether a guest or "plus 1" is provided for you. If you aren't sure if you can bring an additional guest, please reach out to the bride or groom. We'll do what we can to accommodate. Also see our "Can I bring my kid(s)?" question above.
We would love to encourage our guests to don cocktail to semi-formal attire. The wedding party will be dressed to impressed, and we hope you will be too. Things to keep in mind: The ceremony and reception are in the same location. Choose the right shoes! The ceremony and parts of cocktail hour will be in the grass, and there are gravel walkways from the parking lot to the barn. The reception will mostly be inside the barn. The weather in Southeastern Wisconsin is beautiful in mid-September. Keep your eye on the weather forecast in case you need to bring a light jacket in the evening, and also be aware the barn is not air-conditioned. While we want all of our guests to be comfortable, we do kindly ask to avoid jeans if at all possible.
Parking is available at the venue, however will only hold about 80 cars. We recommend you connect with other guests to carpool, or better yet, take advantage of our shuttle which will be transporting guests to & from a main pick-up stop in downtown Lake Geneva to the venue in Burlington.
Pending weather, the ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outside. Should there be inclement weather, there will be a tent, but doesn't mean there won't be any muddy spots.
Absolutely! We'll be providing appetizers during cocktail hour. We'll present you with a delicious BBQ dinner. Of course there will be dessert, and a snacky surprise during dancing.
Have you met us? We will be providing an open bar, but we'll also be photographing the event, so be warned that any unbecoming shenanigans will likely be recorded to look back on for years.
Check out our Travel tab for information regarding places to lay your head. Hotels are a little pricey in the Burlington and Lake Geneva areas, so we encourage you to shop around and find a spot that fits your budget best. We think sharing an Airbnb with other friends/family close to downtown Lake Geneva is a great option, as it might be more cost-effective than staying at one of the boutique hotels available. All this said, we were able to secure a 10-room block at the Harbor Shores on Lake Geneva. Other hotels required a 2-night stay.
We'll be providing transportation for guests back to the Lake Geneva area. Depending on how much energy you have left, maybe a nightcap at Topsy Turvy Brewery is in order.
Yes! We'll have a shuttle service and set a pick-up location in the downtown Lake Geneva area to transport you to the wedding venue in Burlington. We'll also have a shuttle service back to the Lake Geneva area. From there we'll set you free to explore and finish partying in LG, or make your way to your pillow.
Reach out to the bride or groom. We love you and want you to be comfortable and prepared to help us celebrate our wedding. We can't wait to party with you!
