FAQs

The Wedding Website of Tim Gann and Talia Steiger
If you have any other questions, reach out to either or both of us. If you don't have our contact info, are you sure you're actually invited? Seems weird to us.
Question

There's something I don't like about this wedding. Can I complain to you?

Answer

ABSOLUTELY NOT. This wedding has a very strict "No Haters" policy and if you complain to either of us at or before the wedding, you will be ejected. This wedding is for us, not you, so zip your lips and loosen up a little.

Question

I have to risk it all on a Boeing, and the airline is suggesting three different destinations. What's wrong with New York?

Answer

Well good luck! Hope your plane doesn’t fall apart in mid-air! But so yeah, NYC is served by 3 major airports - JFK and LGA in Queens, and Newark in New Jersey (which seems crazy but is surprisingly easy). But now cut to: you’ve just gotten off the plane and you wanna go to bed. The easiest answers are cabs. If you do that, take a yellow cab (preferred) or Lyft or Uber. Just don’t get into some random car. That would be dumb. There’s also a car service we’ve used called Arecibo. They serve all 3 airports and offer a flat rate, as well as car seats for an extra $10 charge. To reserve a car, go here: www.arecibocc.com/reservations But cars are HELLA MONEY. But also public transit lines in NYC were originally designed by Daedelus. So let's grab a ball of thread! If you use JFK because he’s your favorite president, take the AirTrain to the A, E, J or Z subway lines and go from there. See: https://www.jfkairport.com/to-from-airport/air-train If you use LGA (more of a mayor person, distinguished), get the M60 or Q70 bus to transfer to a subway station in Queens or Manhattan. For more info on bus service, see: https://www.laguardiaairport.com/to-from-airport/public-transportation If you use Newark because you hate politicians, take a NJ Transit train to Penn Station in Manhattan. From Penn you can transfer to bus and subway lines. To book a NJ transit ticket go to: https://www.njtransit.com/trip-planner-to Let us know if you need more info or details on how to get specifically to your bed! And seriously, do your best to get on a different kind of plane.

Question

That Brooklyn Bridge hotel is kinda far. Are you gonna have like a shuttle or something?

Answer

We will have like a shuttle or something! We get that not everyone wants to get an Uber or take the subway (if it'll even be running, NY number one baybee bing bong), so we will definitely provide a way to get to and from the Brooklyn Bridge Marriott. We will NOT have like a shuttle or something for Tru by Hilton, because it is like 7 minutes away.

Question

How the heck do I get to your wedding & brunch from my hotel?!

Answer

- If you are staying at the Marriott Brooklyn Bridge Hotel, we will provide a shuttle bus to take you to and from the wedding at Threes Brewing. To get to the brunch at Sycamore Bar on Sunday, you have a few options - cab, Uber or Lyft or public transit. For the bus, walk to the intersection of Adams St & Johnson St on the southbound side and take a B103 bus bound for Limited Canarsie - Williams Ave Via Ave H Via Ave M. Get off at the Cortelyou Rd/Westminster Rd stop which is literally right in front of Sycamore. For the train, walk to Jay St-Metrotech Station and take a Bay Ridge-95 St bound R train to Atlantic Ave-Barclays Center station. From there, transfer to a Coney Island bound Q train and get off at Cortelyou Rd. Sycamore is a short walk from the station. - If you are staying at the Tru by Hilton Hotel, you can walk a few minutes to get to Threes Brewing. To get to the brunch at Sycamore Bar, you may take a cab, Uber or Lyft, or take public transit. The easiest route is to walk to the intersection of 4 Av & 4 St and take a B103 bus bound for Limited Canarsie - Williams Ave Via Ave H Via Ave M. Get off at Cortelyou/Westminster Rd stop and the bar is right there. For the train, walk to the Union St R station and take a Manhattan bound R train one stop to Atlantic Ave-Barclays Center Station. From there, transfer to a Coney Island bound Q train and get off at Cortelyou Rd. Sycamore is a short walk from the station. - If you are staying at the James New York - NoMad hotel, you can take a cab, Uber or Lyft to the venues or take public transit. To get to Threes Brewing via public transit, walk to 28 St subway station and take a Bay Ridge-95 St bound R train to Union St. Threes is a few minute walk from the station. To get to Sycamore Bar for the brunch, walk to 34 St-Herald Square station and take a Coney Island bound Q train to Cortelyou Rd. The bar is a short walk from the station.

Question

Those hotels are too expensive! Don't you remember all your friends are broke?

Answer

Folks, it's New York. We don't like it either. There are some other options though. If this is giving you anxiety, contact either of us directly and we can help you figure something out. We want you to come and we don't want money to be an obstacle.

Question

Is that thing about the dress code a joke?

Answer

I guess kinda, but we honestly don't care about what you look like as long as we get to see your face. Probably you should wear *some* clothes, this is not a nudist wedding (unfortunately). That being said, if you *do* show up in sweatpants, Tim will personally give you a high five and you will be declared the best man and/or maid of honor.

Question

You didn't give me a +1 and I want one! What gives?

Answer

Oh snap our bad! Well shoot so like we gotta see who RSVPs and if enough people are like "nah eff this wedding" then yeah, you can totally have one probably! Let us know if you want one, we'll put you on a waitlist and let you know if a spot opens up (oh no writing that made me feel empty inside).

Question

I have spawned offspring. Can I bring them?

Answer

Yes! Well, probably. If they're small enough and you'll be feeding them, sure, no problem! If they'll be eating the catered food, you'll have to check with us first to make sure there's room for them. But there are at least two (2) confirmed children who are delightful and play well with others, and the more friends they can make the happier everyone is.

Question

I don't like you very much. Do I have to get you a gift?

Answer

Regardless of how you feel about us personally, gifts are NOT REQUIRED. Your attendance is plenty. Neither of us care much about Things or Objects, and Tim's a straight up communist, so absolutely no pressure.

Question

JK I actually like at least one of you a lot and wanna give you a gift, but I'm not feeling creative. Do you have a registry?

Answer

Okay fine you can give us something, but really, only if you want to. If you do feel so inclined, you can find the registry at https://www.zola.com/wedding/taliaandtim2024/registry We also have a honeymoon fund going, and if you wanna throw your hard-earned cash at us, Venmo Talia (@TaliaSteiger). In lieu of either of these things, if you wanna be an excellent top-notch human, you can donate to the National Network of Abortion Funds by going to https://abortionfunds.org/donate

Question

Hold up. That registry links to a whole different website. Did... did you make two websites?

Answer

You bet your asses we did. Look, here's the deal: one half of our attendees are chill af, but the other half... not so much. We wanted to convey that this party is gonna be super fun with our site, but we also didn't wanna shock the normies. So yes we made a decoy website to avoid ire and judgment, and if any of you narc on us, you're not invited anymore, capisce?

Question

When the priest says "speak now or forever hold your peace," am I allowed to ruin the wedding?

Answer

Okay buddy first of all, priest? Are you kidding? Do you know either of us? Second, when have you ever heard anyone say that at an actual wedding. That's a movies-only type of deal. That being said, while you don't actually stand a chance, it would be hilarious.

Question

Help! NYC is a maze! Can you lend me a compass?

Answer

Absolutely! Google maps is always helpful for walking, driving and transit directions. But if you are looking for more accurate public transit info, we suggest downloading the following apps on your phone: - Subway Time app - provides a Subway map and real-time data for when trains arrive at each station in the system - very accurate! - MTA app - provides info on all NYC transit options - bus, train and ferry. Click "Plan Trip" and enter your current location and destination and the app will give you various transit options.

Question

Im bored! Can you help me find things to do?

Answer

Well first off, if you're bored, thats on you! But if you are looking for recs on food & stuff, we are happy to help. Please reach out and we will bombard you with too many fun & tasty options!
