Snorkeling & Turtle Nesting
On the Palace side of the resort, the turtle's nest and lay eggs from April to July. This portion of beach is rocky, so we suggest water shoes and snorkeling gear! This area is perfect for spotting tropical fish, coral, and to swim with turtles. There is a potential to see early hatchlings!
Dolphinaris Barceló
The resort offers a complimentary dolphin show for all guests. Guests also have the opportunity to swim with Dolphins for and extra cost! Prices are subject to change, but the last time we checked, the cost was approximately $98 per person.
Barceló Maya Caribe Shopping Mall
This area offers shopping with various local vendors! In addition, this area also offers a bowling alley, sports bar, and is home to the Hibachi restaurant.
Swimming Pools & Water Park Info
The hotel has 8 swimming pools that include special shallow areas for children, semi-Olympic pools, adult pools, and four hot tubs. It also features the Barcy Water Park for kids where your little ones can enjoy castles, slides, and waterfalls within the swimming pool! The swimming pool area offers a marvelous sun terrace, sun lounger and hammock area, as well as a fully equipped game area with a beach store and much more. The new Pirates Island Water Park (additional cost $) features slides and attractions for all ages which have been designed for the most courageous members of the family. Terms and Conditions: Free admission for children under 6 years old. Children under 12 years old must always be accompanied by an adult. In addition, guests can experience the fun of riding a wave at the Surf Ride Pool (additional cost $). Terms and Conditions: Minimum age required: 13 years old
U-Spa Barceló Maya Riviera
The new U-Spa Wellness & Fitness Center at the Barceló Maya Grand Resort complex is inspired by the four elements. The spa offers more than 32,300 sq ft of exclusive facilities: saunas, steam baths, tropical and bi-thermal showers, dynamic pool, and immersion pools. It also features a relaxation area to unwind and disconnect from your daily routine.
Theater Shows
This resort offers two separate theaters that have nightly shows. There is one theater located on our side of the property at the Maya Caribe and Maya Beach. The other theater is located at the Maya Tropical and Maya Colonial side of the resort. If you don't care for what is showing at the Caribe and Maya Beach, they have another completely different show at the Tropical and Colonial's theater.
Scuba Diving & Catamaran Trip to Cozumel
Details to come! We are planning a day trip via Catamaran (boat) for a day of scuba diving in Cozumel! We welcome everyone that can come along to join us, we can schedule it out for groups if needed. Food drinks everything will be included. Price 60-100 USD per person depending on trip picked.
Blue Cenote or Centoe trips
Details to come! We are planning a half day to see a cenote and jump in. Pricing varies. Many trips and locations to choose from! We suggest looking at TripAdvisor under things to do in Playa del Carmen for more trip info.
Mayan Ruin Tour
More Details to come! We are planning a Mayan Ruins tour day trip, which will potentially be paired with the cenote trip. They have full day trip together or half day trip separate. You can also pair the Ruin tour with a tequila tasting! Check out TripAdvisor for more info.
Barceló Bars and Jaguars Night Club
Barcelo lobby bars are generally open until 11pm. Theater bars are generally open until midnight. Club Jaguar is open for adults age 18 and older from 11PM until 2AM. It is open Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday for teens under age 18 from 8:30PM until 10:30PM - no alcohol served.
