Tim & I first met at the United Plate Glass Christmas party in 2012. Although we had both worked at the same company, our paths had not crossed as we worked there at different times. So Tim had stopped by to visit friends, and we were initially introduced at the party. After the party, we continued to stay in contact throughout the following year. The next year, we ended up going to the same Christmas party again, but this time together, and that was when we “officially” started our relationship.
Tim and I spent all of New Year’s Eve Day with friends but decided to spend New Year’s Eve itself, just the two of us, at Tim’s house since I had to work early the next day. We were watching the New Year’s Rockin’ Eve special on television when—surprise, surprise—I started falling asleep. Tim was doing his best to keep me awake since he was planning on proposing to me just as the ball dropped. Immediately before midnight, Tim asked me to stand underneath a picture of mistletoe that he had printed out from the internet. Just as the ball dropped at midnight, Tim asked me to marry him. I, of course, responded, “Yes!” but Tim loves to say, "It took her a whole year to answer me.”
