July 4th we both "swiped right" on Bumble (Thank you Rebecca!) which is an on-line dating app searching for that "second chance" at love. It was uncanny how many things we had in common. Our kids are close in age. We are both first borns. We both were #24 in sports. We have the same interests (especially 80's music) and are both from large families. We share the same faith and sense of humor, but most importantly we both were searching for a partner to have a healthy, loving and genuine relationship. We called, texted and emailed multiple times every day for almost a month. Tired of the dating games over 40, we were eager to meet and see if there was any chemistry; however it wasn't until August 2nd that we finally went on our first date. We both drove 45 minutes to Jeffersonville-the half way point between Worthington and Blue Ash. We decided to meet at the Waffle House parking lot, where we first set eyes on each other in person. There were some big smiles and sparks to say the least! Our first date consisted of talking in Tim's truck for over 3 hours. We both walked away thinking, "There's something here..."! The rest is history.
There was talk of a future together pretty early on. Life is short and at our age...when you know, you know! A loving, active and honest relationship that would blend our amazing kids and families. There was a ring shopping date that took place and Laura was convinced that Tim had done what he said and had picked out a solitaire diamond that we had looked at for 2 hours one day in November. There were little jokes of a ring in a pocket here, or a ring in the truck there, but places and times and dates that would seem perfect to a girl slid by and someone was getting a bit antsy. We wanted to wait until after Christmas and have it be a private moment. When Laura least expected it, Tim asked and of course Laura said....nothing. I was shocked! This wasn't the ring we had tried on. And someone wasn't on one knee. Of course I said YES or you wouldn't be reading this. That Mr. Clark! Always keeping his lady on her toes, which is a good thing. Tim picked out the ring himself and it is incredibly beautiful and special because he surprised me completely!
We are having a small intimate gathering of our immediate families and a few friends who are like family. We are so excited to be able to say our vows before the people who matter the most to us in this life. Being that this is our second wedding, we are going for simple and sweet. Inside the greenhouse, there will be a short ceremony, a champagne toast, delicious buffet dinner, incredible cake and some serious dancing. Please bring your dancing shoes! We want our guest to be comfortable.
