Castlegate is a venue that is across from the beach and is designed for weddings and other large events. The wedding ceremony will be held in the courtyard and the reception will be held in the carriage house. Due to the fact that the venue is in a residential area, there will be a shuttle for all wedding guest from the public parking lot to the venue.

Question

Why do we have to park in a public beach parking lot? Why can't we park at the beach house or on the street?

Answer

Castlegate (the wedding venue) is in a residential area on a busy road (A1A). Due to limited parking in the driveway and safety reasons, parking will be available at 3721 Coastal Hwy, St. Augustine, FL 32084 and a free shuttle will bring you back and forth from the house to the parking lot.

What time does the ceremony begin?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00. Please remember you will be parking in a public beach parking lot and will be shuttled to the house so give yourself a couple extra minutes by arriving a little early. The shuttle from the parking lot to the house will run from 3:45-4:45. We will have light refreshments available while you wait. We don't want you to miss us saying "I do!" Shuttle services will resume after the ceremony ends.

Where should we stay during our visit?

Answer

There are hotels and beach houses to rent nearby. If you stay anywhere in Vilano Beach, St. Augustine, or South Ponte Vedra area, you will be close by. For more information and hotel specifics, please see the travel tab at the top of the page.

What should I wear?

Answer

Garden Party Attire or Beach Formal. We love bright colors and make sure to wear your dancing shoes!

Will my feet get sandy?

Answer

No, the ceremony will be held outside in a courtyard behind the Castlegate beach house. The reception will be held inside the air conditioned carriage house just steps away.

Should I eat before?

Answer

We love food, so no! There will be a cocktail hour with hors d' oeuvres. Dinner, dancing, and dessert will follow!

Do I need to bring a flask?

Answer

No, we will have an open bar and festivities will be flowing! Think ahead and designate a driver or have the Uber/Lyft apps downloaded on your phone so everyone makes it home safely.
