Our journey starts as a modern love story. We met on Facebook of all places. Tim was recently relocated for the apprenticeship to Western New York and was staying at Nellies Motel, Arcade NY (think typical sketchy motel). After texting and calling each other for a few weeks, we decided to go on our first official date. Tim not knowing the area, decided it was a good idea to invite me to the very fancy Nellies. A motel. With a strange new man I was meeting for the first time. To this day still makes us laugh, but after second thought I asked him to come pick me up and went to a local restaurant in East Aurora, NY (my hometown). He was a true gentleman from the start and the date went smoothly. He was crazy enough to keep coming back and the rest is history.
Tim couldn't have proposed in a better way. Amidst Tim being more than 1000 miles away in Florida, restoring power after Hurricane Ian, I was attempting to close on our new home. We were going on week 5 of him being away, when a friend of mine asked if we could go for a hike to a local spot called the Eternal Flame. I will admit I was dreading it and gave her a run for her money to get me to go on this hike. Meanwhile, Tim was on the long drive home without my knowledge waiting for me at the end of the hike to propose. When we made it to the waterfall, he was standing there with flowers and himself. I was in complete shock. He got on one knee and bravley asked me to marry him. After I do - I was also surprised to family and friends excitingly waiting at home with lots of love and celebrating!
