Let's cut to the chase, Haley and I met on Bumble. Here's what happened... Tim actually matched with Haley months prior to their first date. The unfortunate thing for Tim is that women have to message first on Bumble, and if they don't say anything within the first 24 hours, they're gone! Guess who didn't say anything to Tim... You guessed it! It was Haley. This made for a really funny crossover a few months later when Haley and Tim attended the same wedding of their mutual friends. Was Tim secretly hoping that Haley would notice him at the wedding? Yes. Did she... No.. But that's okay because a few weeks after the wedding, fate struck. Tim had matched with Haley Mueller once again on Bumble, and this time, he was certain his luck was going to turn around. This became very stressful for Tim as the 24 hour time limit was soon approaching. Taking one last chance, he extended the match for another 24 hours. As fate would have it, Haley messaged back! This time much quicker than before! After a vigorous debate about which lyric in "All Too Well (Taylor's Version)(10 Minute Version)(Sad Girl Autumn Version)" hurt us the most, the two quickly started to get to know each other. Now, Tim knew he was very interested in Haley, but according to history, no one else could tell! After their first date at the wonderful pizza restaurant, The Pitch, Tim wanted to show his appreciation for the date, by not giving a kiss, or a hug, or even a handshake goodbye. No, Tim decided it was best to salute this mysterious woman goodbye. And by an act of God, Haley decided he was worth a second date. The rest is history!
I had a sneaking suspicion that he’d be proposing on NYE. So, the morning of NYE, I was awake at an unusually early hour, like a kid on Christmas morning. We hung around the house, played some games, and just enjoyed each other’s company as we were both anxious for the day ahead. Later that afternoon, Tim told me to get dressed up and that we were going on a drive. He proceeded to show me all of our special spots around Springfield; a take on one of my first dates I planned for him which I deemed “Springfield (Haley’s Version)”. He brought me down memory lane by showing me Springfield (Haley & Tim’s Version). We drove past our first date restaurant, our first apartments, our old Drury stomping grounds. Of course Drury sparked a “what if” conversation; we came to the conclusion that we met exactly when we’re supposed to meet. The last place he took me to was Nathanael Greene park, one of the most picturesque locations in Springfield, where we’ve had many sweet moments. One of which was the summer prior, where we sat under a gazebo looking at the peonies (my favorite flower) and talked about the future. Looking around the gazebo there were many initials carved into it and we decided to add ours to the collection. Fast forward to NYE, we take a walk around the cold and empty park for a while, it turns out that part wasn’t planned, my friends who were setting up needed just more time. We round the corner to see the gazebo and its decorated for us. We go search for our initials, and then we sit down and chat. I was very suspicious at this point and we’re both nervous but I remind him that at the end of the day, it’s just him and I and there’s nothing too scary we can’t handle together. He then shares stories about us and why we work so well together, it ends with him standing up and leading me into the middle of the gazebo where he knelt down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I said “Yes!! Of course!!”
