Whenever we head to Virginia City we love to stop here for a soft pretzel with beer cheese. This is a great place to grab a meal before hitting the hills!
We always stay here when we are in town. If you don't mind the possibility of ghosts touching your feet while you sleep this is a nice, central location. There are A LOT of stairs though!
Great place to grab a drink and listen to music. They usually have a live band on the week days and nights.
One of our favorite breakfast joints! Make sure to grab a Bloody Mary, it's one of the best we've ever had. On the weekends they will have live music on the patio.
This is our favorite place to eat in town! Sundays are a good day to get the famous "Gospel Fried Chicken" for lunch. If they have the Mayan Chocolate Creme Brulee on the menu, don't pass it up!
This is a gorgeous Catholic church! If you like church architecture and stained glass windows, you'll want to stop in and sit awhile. If you want to learn more about the history you can stop in the museum. Sunday mass starts at 10:30 am.
The cemeteries will be visible from the north end of town. Take first left and another left into the city. You will see signs pointing you there. Nearly every plot is fenced or bordered, a typical practice of the Victorian period. The characteristic features of these burial places reflect the breadth of styles and designs popular during their long history. Grave markers range in materials from wood to metal to cut stone. The inscriptions on the markers give silent testimony to the social and economic fabric of both Virginia City and Gold Hill. Cemetery Gin, the official spirit of Virginia City, gives $1 for every bottle sold, back to the Comstock Cemetery Foundation for preservation and restoration efforts.
We highly recommend a flashlight tour of this amazing club! Even if you don't catch a ghost you'll leave with a lot of information about the Millionaires Club. (Check out the website link!) Each guided tour is about 40 minutes in length. They offer tours 7 days a week and each tour includes ALL 3 floors of this historical site. Tickets are sold onsite at the Washoe Club. They encourage each guest to take photos and/or record audio during the tours...cause you never know what you might catch!
