Tim and I should have met several times in the year or two prior to our initial meeting. Both NC State alums, we had several chance "misencounters", where we were in the same buildings, at the same events, even played on the same musical records, all without ever exchanging so much as a glance. When we look back, it is clear that God was waiting for the perfect time to bring us together. The time came in the summer of 2020. (What a time, am I right?) Our dear friends Abby and Kevin knew both of us well and decided it was high time we were set up on a date. First, they introduced us to each other and let us get acquainted at a few church events. Then--I kid you not--they told each of us that the other had caught feelings. Without that yet being the case for either of us!! (Kids, don't try this at home!) But this time, this one fateful time, that crazy Shakespeare-like trick actually worked. Tim and I were convinced, and in August of 2020, Abby, Kevin, and a few other friends set up a movie night just so that Tim could ask me out. It worked! An 8-hour first date led to a year full of adventures. In August of 2021, Tim led me to the field where we had our first date and asked me to be his wife. While we have our friends to thank in part for our meeting, we have God to thank for all. He has brought us together and used our story to show us and (hopefully) others his glory and great love for his children. It is our prayer that our story and our wedding is one of God's many tools to bring his children joy. We want you to know that more than any husband, God loves his Church with an unconditional love that has no rival. Thank you. Thank you for being a part of our story by celebrating our marriage with us, and also for the friendship you've showed in the years past, and the friendship we'll share in the years to come. Grace and Peace. -Tim & Caroline
