FAQs

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

In the Catholic tradition, everyone is welcome at the ceremony. However, only those listed on the invitation by name are invited to the reception. We have decided to limit invitations to children to those participating in the ceremony as the flower girl or as ring bearers.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Black tie optional: long dresses and dark-colored suits.

Question

Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Brooklyn Hilton. For details, please navigate to the "Travel" page of the website, linked above.

Question

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

There are three airports for commercial flights into New York City: JFK, LaGuardia (LGA), and Newark (EWR). The best airport depends on your priorities. JFK: This airport is the closest to the Hilton Brooklyn, where our hotel block is located, and has the simplest public transit connection. Both the subway and Long Island Railroad (LIRR) connect to the AirTrain, which stops at each terminal. LGA: LaGuardia is only slightly further from the Hilton Brooklyn than JFK. It was recently renovated and has the nicest amenities of the three airports. There are public buses that connect the subway to LGA, but no trains, so on public transit, the trip is longer than the trip to JFK. EWR: While LGA and JFK are located on the same island as Brooklyn (Long Island), Newark is in New Jersey. The drive from Newark to Brooklyn goes through Manhattan or Staten Island. However, it is a hub for United and was renovated more recently than JFK. Amtrak and NJ Transit trains both connect Newark to the NYC subway system. In addition to the airports, the Amtrak and several commuter train systems, including MetroNorth, NJ Transit, and Long Island Railroad (LIRR), connect the city to the surrounding area.
