Yes! Delaware Limo will transport guests from the Hotel DuPont to Winterthur at 4:30 PM, 5:15 PM (est.) and 6:00 PM (est.). Starting at 6:00 PM, Winterthur will provide shuttle service from the Visitor's Center to the ceremony area at the reflecting pool. Shuttles from the reception back to the Hotel DuPont will be 10:00 PM, 10:45 PM (est.) and 11:30 PM.
There are many beautiful gardens and estates in the area, all of which are owned by the DuPont family. Approximately 15 minutes away from Winterthur is Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA; we recommend booking timed entry tickets in advance. Kennett Square also happens to be the mushroom capital of the world. For the mushroom lovers, check out The Woodlands at Phillips Mushroom Farms for purchase. Not far away, there is another DuPont estate in Wilmington called Nemours Estate and Gardens. The grounds include a 47,000 square foot mansion and 200 acres of manicured, french gardens. All guests of the S&S wedding also have complimentary day passes to Winterthur on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Winterthur has over 1,000 acres of protected meadows, woodlands, ponds, and waterways, not to mention a magnificent 175-room, 95,000 square foot mansion with thousands of antiques and artifacts for touring. To get complimentary tickets, please call ahead and indicate you are part of the Stasiw-Shotwell wedding, or alternatively, mention the same at the ticket office upon arrival. For all you wine-o's, Brandywine Valley is home to many beautiful vineyards, including Penns Woods Winery just ten minutes away from the venue.
We have a room block at Hotel DuPont; please use the code SSWRB102525 to secure the discounted rate. We also recommend staying at The Quoin in Wilmington, which is a newer boutique hotel. Otherwise, we recommend checking out AirBnB or VRBO!
The dress code is semi-formal. Suits (ties optional) and cocktail dresses and gowns.
