It is a festive gathering of family and friends to bless the bride-to-be and often includes music, dance, and food, functioning as a joyful celebration and a final get-together with her family before she marries into a new one. The Haldi Ceremony is where a paste made of turmeric (haldi), sandalwood, and other ingredients is applied to the bride and groom by family and friends. This auspicious ceremony serves to bless, purify, and bestow a radiant glow upon the couple, ward off evil spirits, and usher in prosperity for their new life together.
