In 2012, Alexa arrived on the Wheeling Jesuit University campus and moved in to Sarah Tracey Hall for her first year of college. It took until late August before Tim moved in to Campion Hall. After their first week on campus, and a couple dances at a freshman mixer, they exchanged numbers and enjoyed the time they got to spend together between class, conditioning, practice, study tables, and games. The first semester flew by as it often does for freshman, but they didn't like the idea that they wouldn't be able to see each other for a couple of months over winter break because basketball players were required to stay on campus. Alexa invited Tim to come with her family to Florida for a vacation. It was an offer he couldn't refuse and a perfect opportunity for Tim to ask Alexa to be his girlfriend. Their relationship grew and strengthened over their years in college and 5 years later Tim asked Alexa to marry him.
