Is there a dress code?

Answer

Cocktail Attire. We kindly ask guests to dress in cocktail attire. For example, suits or dress shirts for men, and cocktail dresses or dressy outfits for women. Jackets and ties are welcome but not required. Please feel free to dress up and celebrate with us!

Food/dietary restrictions and allergies?

Answer

Please reach out to Tim or Summer to let them know if you have any specific food/dietary restrictions and/or allergies in advance. Earlier the better so we can plan accordingly.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be indoors. Weather permitting, the cocktail hour will be a mix of outdoor and indoor. The reception will be indoors.

Is there parking for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

There is a large parking lot with the venue reserved for the event.

Nearby hotels and the area?

Answer

If you are staying for the weekend, feel free to book any hotel in northern VA or DC metropolitan area. Manassas, VA is known for Civil War historical sites, wineries, and golf courses. You can book hotels closer to Arlington, VA or Rosslyn, VA to get a good mix between DC and VA accessibility (metro stations available to DC/VA/MD). The closest hotel to the wedding venue is the newly opened Tempo by Hilton Manassas - 9849 Discovery Blvd, Manassas, VA 20109 (20 min walk or 3 min drive to venue). There is also Tru by Hilton Manassas - 10550 Gateway Blvd, Manassas, VA 20110 (6 min drive to venue; not walkable). Obviously, you can stay anywhere else in the DC, MD, VA area and simply rideshare to the venue on your own or in groups.

Traveling from out of town (NYC)?

Answer

The easiest transportation between NYC (Penn Station) and northern VA/DC is taking Amtrak. Much cheaper if you book earlier (NOTE: the Friday, day before wedding is Juneteenth, which will likely have higher travel/traffic volumes than weekends like Memorial Day). Depending on when and where you are planning to stay for the weekend (if you are), below are the Amtrak options: -Going directly to the Amtrak station in Manassas, VA and then 10 min Uber/Lyft to Sweeney Barn venue. There are more train schedule options going to the Amtrak station in Alexandria, VA and then ~45 min Uber/Lyft to the venue. -Getting off at other Amtrak stations closer to where you are looking to stay in DC (Union Station) or VA (Alexandria Station, Burke Centre Station, Manassas Station) and taking Uber/Lyft to the venue. The alternative cheaper option would be bus (BestBus, Vamoose, FlixBus, Megabus, OurBus, etc.), which have stops in Washington D.C. and multiple stops in northern VA.
