Andy tells me a couple day before, that he wants to go to his "thinking spot", the beach, and have a relaxing night on the beach. He says, he's reserved a fire pit on the beach at the Hotel Del Coronado. I secretly suspect he is going to propose while there ( Andy once told me that's how he wanted to propose) and was glad I had a hair appointment schedule. We arrive to check-in to our reservation, Andy tells them it's under Smith, the guy finds our name and says to Andy, "Congratulations!" Andy tries to play it off, but now my suspicion is confirmed. The fire pit, beach and view are all gorgeous and I'm impatiently wondering when Andy is going to pop the question. Within the first five minutes of our fire pit being lit, at the fire pit in front of us, a guy proposes to his girl friend. Andy gets an annoyed look on his face and says to me "Really, he's proposing to her on the beach? How cliche?" We brought our own champagne. We sat sipping champagne and talking for a while but Andy still had not popped the question. We are now getting close to the end of our reservation and I'm still wondering, why hasn't he asked me yet? With his arm around me, while watching the sun set into the ocean, Andy talks about a couple of things we've experienced and tells me, "There's no one I'd rather do this with", takes the ring out of his pocket and asks me to marry him.
